Zoom Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I just use my own paid account to run the workshops?
- No, in order to track learners in attendance you must use a free zoom account that is linked to Klatch.
- Why do I have to use a free account on Zoom?
- In order for Klatch to assign you a Zoom license for your workshop, we must be able to link our Zoom account to yours. This only works with Zoom accounts that are free.
- I already have a free account on Zoom, can I use that?
- Yes! You can use your existing free Zoom account. Just know that if you plan to upgrade that Zoom account to a paid membership, Klatch will no longer be able to assign one of our licenses to it.
- I used my personal account and want to change it. Is that possible?
- Yes, you can update your Zoom account email by submitting the new email under the zoom tab on your Klatch account. Find full instructions here.
- What happens if I leave Klatch and still want to continue to use that Zoom account?
- Klatch does not take over your personal Zoom account. We simply use the email address to assign you one of our licenses temporarily. Your account remains under your control at all times.
- Can I use that account for personal Zooms?
- Your paid license is only active when a member of the Klatch team assigns one to you in advance of a live workshop. At all other times, your account will behave like a normal free Zoom account. You can use your account to have personal Zoom meetings but those meetings will be subject to Zoom’s free account restrictions.
- Is there a limit to how many zooms I can launch?
- You are only assigned a paid license when you have a live workshop scheduled. So you will have access to unlimited Zoom time only when you have a live workshop. At all other times, your Zoom account will behave like a free Zoom account. Meaning you can launch as many Zooms as you want, but they will only be unlimited when a member of the Klatch team has assigned a paid license to your account in advance of a workshop.
